Postdoctoral position with ArGan’sLab

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the field of biochemistry and drug discovery. The selected candidate will play a key role in advancing cutting-edge research aimed at identifying and characterizing novel therapeutic targets, designing small molecules, and investigating biomolecular interactions. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to innovative drug discovery efforts in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research focused on characterizing therapeutic targets and developing new chemical entities.

  • Design and synthesize small molecule libraries for targetted screening and lead optimization.

  • Investigate biomolecular interactions using various biophysical and biochemical techniques (e.g., SPR, ITC, NMR).

  • Apply computational modeling and in silico drug discovery methods (e.g., molecular docking, QSAR, molecular dynamics simulations, and enhanced-sampling techniques) to support drug design and optimization.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the discovery and validation of drug candidates.

  • Analyze experimental data and contribute to writing research publications and grant proposals.

  • Contribute to lab safety procedures and assist in the management of lab operations.

  • Present findings at internal meetings, scientific conferences, and collaborate with external partners.

Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related discipline, obtained within the past 5 years.

  • Demonstrated experience in chemical synthesis and structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies.

  • Proficiency in computational modeling and in silico drug discovery approaches, including molecular docking, QSAR, and molecular dynamics simulations.

  • Expertise in biophysical and biochemical techniques such as HPLC, mass spectrometry, SPR, ITC, or other relevant methods for the characterization of molecular interactions.

  • A record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams.

  • A keen interest in advancing therapeutic discovery through innovative biochemical, biophysical, and computational approaches.

Application Instructions:

We encourage candidates from all backgrounds and experiences to apply, and we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Interested candidates are required to submit the following materials:

  • A cover letter outlining their research interests and motivation for applying.

  • A CV, including a detailed list of publications and conference presentations.

  • PDF copies of three key publications relevant to the position, along with an accompanying document (~1 page) describing the applicant’s specific contributions to each publication.

  • Contact information for three academic referees, including the PhD and Postdoctoral supervisors.

Complete application package must be submitted to
